![]() I wonder if it’s really all just nostalgia? I can’t help but feel that H!P songs used to be better back in the days. I recognize that I’m seeing the past through those rose-tinted glasses… but what can I say? I was young, and I have a lot of emotional attachment to those songs from when I’d just become a wota. I do get hooked on some of the new songs, too, but at the end of the day nothing beats the old songs. You guys sure like to talk about stuff that happened years and years ago… I guess most people would think of Takahashi or Kago first.Īt the time of its release, people were saying it sounded like an 80’s anime ending song. It’s because I became a Musume/idol wota this past year thanks to Eririn, so I can’t help but associate the song with her. It just doesn’t have an image of “Kamei” for me. Might just be the most amazing song ever… The “ WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW BE ALIVE BE ALIVE” bit in S-kun is so pleasant, I feel like listening to it endlessly. Including songs which Ayaya herself covered. Niigaki sings lots of Ayaya’s songs at her solo shows, too. Gaki-san really made Egao ni Namida her own. I always feel like crying when I listen to Egao ni Namida. That sense of isolation, loneliness, strength… And they were both 15 or 16 when they recorded them. I hear a lot of similarities between Ayaya’s and Utada Hikaru’s first albums. The best song from the second one has to be Koishite Gomen ne. I like Date Biyori from the second album the most. People always first get hooked on a song like Oshare before eventually settling down and arriving at a song like Futari Osaka. This was the era when Tsunku’s maiden heart was in its most active stage of eruption. Recently I’m once again hooked on Ayaya’s first album.Īyaya’s first and second albums have no bad songs on them.Īyaya’s debut will go down in history as one of the best albums of Japanese music. ![]() This song and Sou Ieba sure are well-loved - and deservedly so. That electric piano in the interlude gives it a good flavor. There’s something strangely melancholic about it, too. I tried singing it in karaoke and it was super hard. ![]() Matsuura is great for how she can sing a difficult song like that with such ease. Isn’t Ayaya’s “ Oshare!” just crazy good?Īt first I thought she was singing about the young people of today, but it turns out this song was actually released over 10 years ago. What on earth was Coconuts Musume anyway? I loved stuff like Summer Reggae Rainbow. For some reason everyone was doing these PV’s with the artists singing in weird CG rooms. I’m glad to see that the music videos were just as awful then as they are now. (laughs)Įven now this song is sometimes still used as BGM on TV when it’s something related to the color yellow. I want them to make Kobushi cover Dancing! Natsu Matsuri. They should perform the late shuffle song Inshousha Renoir no You ni at Hello Con, too. My first time hearing “ buratto kitatte arahendoo,” I thought Tsunku was just a plain genius.Įven this was already ten years ago, huh… You have to forget about the usual way of listening to rapping in hiphop and stuff and find a new way of doing so in order to enjoy H!P’s poor-quality rapping. Usually I can’t stand rapping in H!P music, but SALT5 really left an impression. Ultimately, it was the yellow team that won in the long run. I think I’ll probably keep myself busy the whole weekend just checking out all the related videos on this one. It was a fun way of discovering girls whose main groups you weren’t following. I still remember buying a PS2 and this PV being the first DVD I ever watched on it. They recently performed this at Hello Con, right? I only bought the blue one, but I wasn’t surprised they sold the least. Sales-wise, blue came in last, right? So later on, on their Hawaii special, Nakazawa was teasing them like “ your team hardly even sold anything” which made Yaguchi pissed off. Yellow was good, but the red song was just perfection. (laughs) I still remember Yasuda proclaiming “ I want to stand in the center.” It was Micchan, Yasuda, Nacchi… and who else? ![]() Hanasanai kono mama toki wo tomete Just you & meĪisu kuriimu mitai toketeku My heart, So sweetĪ.D.D.I.C.T.It’s one of those great songs that you just randomly feel like listening to every now and then.
